Noelle has had a great start to the year. But for the last month has been plagued by migraines. She even had to spend the night in the hospital. The good thing about that was that they were able to perform some tests to rule out tumors, etc. When she cooperated through a MRI, CAT scan and a spinal tap, I knew she was in serious pain. We would appreciate your prayers as she is still battling the headaches on a daily basis.
She struggles to make it through school, takes pain meds, sleeps and starts over:( She hasn't found a pain medicine that will kill the headache without knocking her out so she can't take them until after school. She is working on increasing the dosage on a preventative medicine that should help...someday!
If anyone has any great advice, we would love it!!

My 17 year old daughter, Anna, has suffered from terrible migraines since she was 7 years old. We have been through many, many different preventative medications and migraine medications over the past six or seven years. It is very, very frustrating! In 8th grade, she was missing about five days a month due to migraines. Now she is *only* missing about 2 or 3 days per quarter. I just wanted to offer you some support and tell you to hang in there; it can take a long, long time to find the right meds to help your daughter. Also, you might consider allergy testing. Anna turned out to be allergic to about a jillion things and the headaches improved marginally when her allergies were better controlled. I can't remember how old your daughter is, but definitely there seems to be a hormonal component as well... sigh, it's just a tough road. And one not understood very well by those who have never suffered from a migraine! I hope you are able to get relief soon for Noelle.
